Maine - Beach time

Sam working on a geocache puzzle.

Since we were so close to one of the most popular beaches in Maine it would have been wrong not to visit it. We spent the entire day at Popham Beach (and that says a lot about our family since we are busy bodies). It didn't stop us from geocaching while we were relaxing. We were able to walk out to one of the islands close by during a low tide and solve a puzzle to a cache.

This picture was taking from an island and as you can see you can walk on it during low tide.

This little pesky guy wanted to be our best friend during our lunch time. He even landed on Nate and took a bite out of his sandwich while he was still eating!
We did a lot of walking along the beach admiring views of local houses and the ocean. The kids had a blast playing in the sand and looking for critters.
Jo digging a hole with a big sea shell.

Sam relaxing after lunch time.

Nate being Nate. Just getting dirty in the sand.
After a long day at the beach we headed back, played in the pool (like we didn't spend too much time in the water already) at the camp and had dinner.
That is how we roll camping! Yep those are two lobsters you see. I know life is hard when you are camping close to the beach a local lobster is only $3.50 a pound!

Next time we need to bring a bigger pot!!!
On the way back we stopped at one of our favorite stores L.L.Bean in Freeport Maine to take a picture with a very big boot.

Another fun camping trip with the family.

A smoothie treat at the end.

Trip to the Beach

We made our first trip to the beach this season. It has been a cold spring so far and there have not really been any warm days enjoy in the sun. I had a photo shoot at a beach so we made it into a beach day.

It was a beautiful day. However, the wind it made it a tad chilly. That didn't stop my kiddos from having a blast.
They even posed for me (for only a little bit since they were itching to go play in the sand).
One of the things I learned with photography is work fast with kids!!!

We brought kites with us and were very successful with getting them up.

After I was done with my job we had lunch on the beach and plenty of time to run around.

Nate reaching for the sky with only a kite for now but wait till he gets a little older :).

My girl with one of the kites. Just because she is stinking cute.

Cape Cod (Part I.)

After almost ten years of living in New England we made our first trip to famous Cape Cod. We were invited to go camping with great new friends we met through the girls dance studio. They are seasoned visitors to the Cape and we couldn't have gone with any better people to introduce us to the Cape and show us what the big fuss is about.
Our first night we made a trip to a close by beach after a nice dinner at the camp ground. I loved walking on the wooden boardwalks and bridges to get to the beach. I loved all the grass growing in the sand. The last time I saw something like this was on Prince Edward Island and you are not allowed anywhere near it.
What a great place to take pictures however if only one child will work with you that will have to do. Thanks Emma for being a good sport.

At least on the way back I got them all for some photo time.
All four kids on one of the wooden walkways to the beach.

Just in case you don't know we love beaches.

week in pictures

This is our week in pictures. Some of it anyway.

We enjoyed some good New Hampshire ice cream.

My two cute princesses trying to gobble up big bowls of ice cream so they can go and run around.

We had plenty of rainy days last week.
So when the sun finally peeked out of the clouds we took the opportunity and headed out to the beach.

My beach girls.

And my beach boys

Grandma got to wash her feet in three oceans in last four months.

Anybody else wants to come over and enjoy the New England summer? The Steiger Clan hotel is open for business.
