One (two) big cookies and a stop a the Farm

Earlier this week we went blueberry picking (again). Jo and I went last week and brought home over 15 pounds of blueberries. This time with Sam's help (he was the only one willing to help me) we ended up with 18.5 pounds. Wondering what I did with so many blueberries? Made a ton of blueberry jam, froze a ton for baking and making smoothies and baked a lot of bluebery buckles and froze that. My freezer is starting to fill up with summer goodies for the upcoming year.

Anyway I did have a camera on me but I was too busy picking. On the way home we stoped at one of the local farm stores and I got the kids two big cookies. By the time I was done taking pictures of the girls and their big cookie .... ... the boys were done with theirs. Oh well.

After a sweet treat we stoped at the barn to feed some goats and cows.

Jo was fearless.

She was ready to climb into the pen with the goats.

Getting ready for School

It is that time of the year again. Time to get ready for another school year.

I love seeing the kids faces when they get to open all the boxes with new books and workbooks.

Their faces light up with excitement.

This year I am starting some light school with Emma. She is showing her workbooks here. She could not wait to start school.

She was running around the house singing and thanking me for a long time.

The boys parked right in the middle of living room and hungerly started browsing all of their books.

I believe Sam read most of his science books already:)

Jo getting into the school spirit.

Emma making sure we have enough pencils for everybody.

How about all of you homeschool families out there? Are you getting ready?

Concert at the park

One of the things we like to do in the summer is go to evening concerts in the park. It is always fun to sit down as a family and listen to beautiful music. This year we got to listen to the Yankee Brass Band.

And the best part about a concert outside? There is always something fun for the kids to do afterwards. Like climbing onto canons and scream OUT LOAD.

Last week in pictures

I am still alive. The Steiger household was busy last week (as every week). Here are a "few" pictures from our activities during the week. Pirates are always popular in our household.

My girl ready for battle.

What would summer be without a water balloon fight?

Nate ready to fight.

Dancing in the backyard with scarves.

All the kids but Jo went to Wilderness Camp last week. They had a blast and cannot wait for next year.

Sam practicing archery.

On Saturday we made it to the beach again. We got together with NH adoptive families. It was so much fun to see a playground with children from all over the world.

Nate trying to comunicate with Sam on the other side of this contraption.

And we are not slowing down any time soon :)
