At the Airport - Again

We headed to the airport again this afternoon.

Eleven days ago we said good bye to Fil' parents at Prague's airport and today we said hi to them at Boston's Logan Airport. It was great seeing them even for just the evening.

They were pasing through Boston on their way to Denver.

The kids were so happy to see their grandparents again.

We took a little walk in downtown Boston and the kids enjoyed Carousel ride.

For dinner we stopped at the oldest restaurant in the USA. As you can see the boys enjoyed their ribs.

They had no problem gobbling up all their food.

We will see the grandparents in a month again. It was fun seeing them even just for little bit.

Sunday Last full day in Europe

On Sunday morning we said good bye to my mom's place and to the doggies. I am sure they are looking forward to peace and quiet time for a change.

It was also great to see my cousin and her daughter who came up all the way from Moravia to say hi to us. On the way back to Prague we took the train. Just because we could and it was fun run ride.

My mom with Emma.

In the afternoon we went for a walk with grandma and grandpa and took some lanterns with us to light them and send them up in the air.

Nate helping grandpa.

Two engineers.

Will it fly or not, that is the question!

And it did fly. First it got stuck but after that it was up in the sky. Can you see the tiny little dot in the sky?

My cute little girls. I bet daddy cannot wait to squeeze them. Almost home:)

Last Saturday in Europe

On our last Saturday in Europe we had fun playing around babi's house. Enjoyed the dogs.

Nena

Fido

Sam the secret agent.

Pen anyone?

And just enjoyed family time.

We miss daddy very much and cannot wait to see him again (just in case you haven't noticed that Fil disappeared out of the pictures. He is already back in US and we are looking forward to being together again).

Fun in the pool

Just because we had so much fun at the pool. We wanted to enjoy it as long as possible,

before we have to head back.

We spent more time in the water.

Thursday Fun in the Sun

Today we spend the morning helping around my mom's yard and cleaning some stuff up in the attic. That was a big hit with my kids who found some treasures that still keep them busy.

Here is Nate with his find (old sunglasses).
Sam with old goggles.

The dogs are still a big hit with my girls who chase them around the yard.

And what would a trip to Europe be without a trip to McDonalds.

Yes they have the same stuff as we do in US however it is more expensive here in Europe.

After a morning of hard work we headed to the pool for some water fun.

Emma helping Jonas make a sandwich.

Jo going on a ride with Babi.

Emma attacking Jonas.

In the evening we were invited to my mom's friends house for dinner. They happend to have a excavator in their back yard and the boys got to try it (the girls didn't want to).

Even Jonas had to have a turn.

Wednesday - Terezin

Today the boys and I (and my brother) went to Terezin 'Theresienstadt concentration camp'. It was important to me that the boys saw a concentration camp before we head back to US. They are at the age when they do understand what was going on during WWII. Words cannot express what was going on here and why.

Many innocent people lost their lives.

Too many people too little survivors.

I believe the boys will remember this visit for rest of their lives.

Tueday - little trip to Usti nad Labem

This morning we took a train ride (to make our trip more interesting) to a near by town Usti nad Labem (by the way the boys think it is like taking Hogwarts express). My dad was from this town.
They even have a Burger King here :)

We visited Church of Mary (web site only in czech) that was bombed at the end of the WWII (by Americans) and is tilted 2 meters off.

We took a chair lift to Vetruse (web site only in czech) where my mom and dad had one of their first dates.

View from the top.

It was a hazy drizzle kind of day.

Platform at the train stop.

Waiting for the train and having a little snack (the every popular Tatranky).
