Saturday

Today we started with reading time with Grandma from our new favorite book Struwwelpeter. After that we headed to a close by WWII memorial in Lidice.

This used to be an entire village before Nazi's completely destroyed it.

My kids in front of the children memorial. Out of 105 children only 17 survived the war (the Nazi's killed all the men and the women plus children were send to concentration camps).

I believe the boys understood a little bit more about WWII after our visit. They were still asking questions before they went to bed.

After that we headed to another town close by to watch the medieval battle of Libusin.

The battle it had over 1,000 soldiers, our close family, and over 5,000 spectators.

As you can see it was another sunny day (almost summer like day).

We didn't even lose anybody.

I am not sure if any of the soldiers got hurt. There were so many of them.

Friday

This morning I took the kids out for one more walk through Prague. We started at Petrin (website only in czech). We did make it all the up (299 stairs). View from the top

There was a playground right next to the tower and it was a big hit with my kids.

Emma was the first one to make it to the top.

Thursday

Today we had an easy day and in the afternoon we got to see our old friends. It has been awhile since we saw each other and we had a few extra kids since.

Wednesday

Today I left the girls at home with grandma in the morning and took the boys back to the Prague castle. We walked the whole way but it was fun. Little short cut between buildings.

There is almost another church around every corner in Prague and they all have rich history. This is Loreta. We made it back before lunch. After that I went to downtown all by myself and did tons of walking on my own. There were a few stops I wanted to make and it was fun to walk places where I use to walk regularly. I didn't take a camera with me since I had a few things to pick up and didn't want to be walking around with a big bag.

After I came home I took the kids to a close by park. There were two play grounds and an ice cream place that the kids loved.

The boys got kick out of this seesaw. Not only it goes up and doen it turns around as well.

Tuesday - National Technical Museum

Today we took the kids to the National Technical Museum here in Prague.

When we got home (with Jo who had a big meltdown on the way home) the boys and grandpa made a crystal radio.

It kept them busy for a few hours.
