Dog sitting

Our family grew by one member last week. We were dog sitting last week for our friends.  I wasn't sure how it will all work out but we made it and everyone is still smiling.

Emma playing tug a war with Cassie.
Our activities didn't change much with the dog around except for the fact there was this big hairy thing in our house (and some times even in my car) that we had to keep an eye on.
She sure is a cutie.
It was fun having her around. We enjoyed morning, mid day and evening walks with her and few outings out into the wild. I believe we wore her out most of the days. And if we were not hiking, walking or running there was always something going on around the house.
Cassie didn't want to be left out during a summer hockey game.

The kids had to beg her for the ball so they could continue their game.

We will sure miss her even for her few escapes into our neighbors yards.

Beavers

We are having fun geocaching with the kids this summer. Last weekend we were close to a lake where apparently beavers live. I was glad we didn't run into any but I was very impressed with their work.
Some activity was new.

Some was old.

My beavers at work.

The girls had to give it a try as well.

We found our first NANO size geocache (like micro wasn't small enough).

We get to see all kinds of things on our geocaching trips :)

Out in the Woods

Resting after full morning of biking.

What do we do when we finish school and all of our school activities? We head out most of the time to look for "few" geocaches. The kids are good sports and will head into the "wild" in any kind of weather. Some days we bike, some days we walk, some days we hike.

Having a snack while hiking.

Fantastic views and Nate acting funny.

We found a very big mouse in the woods.

Some times we call Fil at work to tell him we miss him and what a great time we are having :)

Nate with the GPS in the lead.

The oldest with the youngest.

Emma doesn't need the path she just needs rocks and trees to climb.

Cutie

Lets see how high can we go.

Ok mom time to head home!!!

Weekend at the Cape

Evening at the beach.

Last weekend our family spend the weekend on Cape Cod. We were all looking forward to this trip for some time and we couldn't have picked a better time to go. With rain before and after we sure did enjoy plenty of sun and vitamin D.

As you can see the kids made it into the water. It was a high tide so they didn't have to walk a mile out to get wet.

Sunset.
The next day we planned on spending the entire day at the beach. By noon most of us had too much sun. The wind picked up in the afternoon and the sand was blowing all over the place (and it hurt). We still had a good time looking for sea creatures and building all sorts of sandcastles. The next day we knew we couldn't handle another day at the beach so we planned a bike trip to local ice cream shop.

After a nice lunch at the campground we headed out for a hike at Nickerson State Park. It was a nice walk around some of the lakes. Next time we will have to bring swimsuits with us.
Hiking buddies.

Emma will climb on everything.

Enter into wonderland.
We had another lovely time on Cape Cod and we are looking forward to our next trip.

Memorial Day

On Memorial day we took a cruise ride on lake Winnipesaukee with our friends. The kids were free that weekend and veterans (and their spouses) were only $10 each. We took the opportunity and enjoyed a sunny day outside (it was windy but that didn't stop us from getting extra vitamin D).

It was a long ride (over two hours on the lake) and Sam looks like he is done for the day.

Nate on the other hand looks like a happy clam.

Emma posing for pictures.

I am not sure how far we would get if the girls were in charge.

You can see Mt. Washington in the background with snow!!! It snowed in the mountains only few days ago.
