Our first full day in Europe

Aida giving an hand at American Football

After a good night sleep we enjoyed our first full day relaxing around my mom's house. The dogs love having our kids around and keep them company at all times.

Jo and her new best friend.

Kisses from Aida
After a restful morning we went on a little walk around the village.
I am not sure who is walking who. It looks like the dogs are taking the kids for a walk.

Our first European Geocache.

Our second Geocache. It was called "Alone in the field" I bet you know where the Geocache is.
After we made it to the alone tree, we had a hard time finding the Geocache. That is until we sent my brother to the TOP of the tree. Something tells me Europeans are more adventures then Americans.

Let's get home so he doesn't turn into a tree huger :)

Easy Dress

I wanted to share a quick post about one of my many projects. Last year after our spring cleaning I had few of Fil's old shirts that were mostly in good condition and I didn't want to part with them yet. At the same time the weather was starting to warm up and the girls were in a need of play dresses. Somehow I put the two together and this is what came out of it.
I used one of the girls old dress as a pattern to give me an idea how to cut.
Old shirt all cut and every single piece will be use. Most of it for a girlie dress and the rest of it as dish rags.

Shoulder ruffle.

And the finish product.

I made several of them and the girls enjoyed playing in them all summer long. I made them as long as I wanted it (some dresses in the stores are way too short for my taste)
Jo posing as well.

And the best part of this dress. I do not cry when they get dirty or when there is a tear in it because I can say that that clothing has been worn well already :)

Trip to the Beach

We made our first trip to the beach this season. It has been a cold spring so far and there have not really been any warm days enjoy in the sun. I had a photo shoot at a beach so we made it into a beach day.

It was a beautiful day. However, the wind it made it a tad chilly. That didn't stop my kiddos from having a blast.
They even posed for me (for only a little bit since they were itching to go play in the sand).
One of the things I learned with photography is work fast with kids!!!

We brought kites with us and were very successful with getting them up.

After I was done with my job we had lunch on the beach and plenty of time to run around.

Nate reaching for the sky with only a kite for now but wait till he gets a little older :).

My girl with one of the kites. Just because she is stinking cute.

Easter Egg Hunt

This year we surprised the kids with an early morning Easter egg hunt in our back yard. Jo, who is our early riser, came into our bedroom with her eyes all lit up (way too early). Apparently the Easter bunny (aka daddy late at night) stopped by and dropped a few colorful eggs onto our yard. Jo couldn't wait to get out there. She woke everybody up and dragged us all out of bed to go out.
Jo found the biggest basket she could get her little hands on.
Most of us were still half asleep but we all got downstairs to see what the big fuss was about (and the thought of chocolate even pulled Sam out of bed).
Sam demonstrating his state of mind.
It was cold out there. As you can see we still have a little snow on the ground (but not completely covered in snow and this is a huge step in the right direction and a sign that spring is only around the corner or two).

Last egg of the day to be found. I believe the kids were happy with their loot. Not too much but lots of good chocolate.

Book World

My little girls discovered the world of books. It always warms my hear when I see that reading clicked in my kids heads. Somehow after all the hard work the words come alive to them and they are drawn into the world of books. It happened with both of the boys and this year it happened to Emma.

.
She loves reading everywhere and to anyone to who will listen (or pretend to listen at least)
Here the girls are traveling with Mr. Fogg around the world.

Good Skiing season

Sam in the air.
I believe it is safe to say we had a good skiing season this winter. We didn't get much snow in January but that didn't stop us from heading out. We got tons of snow in March and ended our skiing season on a new mountain (I don't have pictures from there, we were too busy exploring not one but two mountains and having a blast on Fil's birthday).

Enjoying skiing during a snow storm.
Both girls did great this year and they are officially on their own. That makes me (Lenka) the slowest Steiger on the mountain.
I wouldn't want to get stuck on this chair lift.

It doesn't help I stop once in a while to take few pictures  :) Oh well.
