Hair Stuff

This post is for all of you who asked me about hair product but I did not get back to you (sorry).

I am still in love with Carol's Daughter products. I wrote about it here and believe it or not I am only about half way through the products from when I bought them back in October last year.


I got a ton of snaps (and bead are on the way) from Snapaholics.

Jordan's hair is in excellent condition. Her hair is not dry and feels nice to the touch.

She has tons of hair and I do a 'do' once a week. That lasts for about a week. I might touch it up every once in a while but other then that it stays like that.

As for skin products I make my own lotion or anything that is natural. I try to stay away from perfume lotions etc.

Easter Egg Hunt Pictures

We did some egg coloring the night before Easter Sunday.

(all Emma cared about was to coloring the eggs pink) And she was a silly girl.

After church we had a Easter egg hunt in our backyard. Yes we were wearing winter jackets. It might look harsh and cold but we were just happy that this year there was no snow on the ground.

I gave Jo just a small basket knowing she would not last too long.

The other kids were busy running and picking up eggs.

Jo had to find out the right way what was the big deal about these plastic eggs.

You bet we lost her after that.

Forget it.

She was on a mission.

She could not believe I let her eat chocolate.

She parked her caboose on the driveway and was quiet the rest of the egg hunt. She was just taking every opportunity to get as much chocolate in her belly before mom changed her mind.

Sunday Reflections - Happy Easter

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
We know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Queen of Sheba

Fil surprised me last Christmas with a scarf from Ethiopia. There are many different types of scarves that we saw when we were in Ethiopia. This is a silk scarf with images of the story of the Queen of Sheba. I did not get it when we were in Ethiopia but Fil remembered that I loved it and he asked our dear friends (the Laughners) when they went to pick up their son to get it for him. It was a big surprise to find it under the Christmas tree. I love scarves and I have a nice collection (I wear them). We finally got it framed. It is a huge picture and we all love it. I am still trying to find a translation for the story and I came across a few interesting stories of Queen of Sheba. It is a big part of Ethiopian history and we are proud to display it in our house.

Where did the week go?

I cannot believe another week went by and the Steiger household is not slowing down any time soon. The boys had their big Grand Prix race at Awana last week. The boys designed their cars and this year even Emma had her own (she did not race since she is still little but they let the 'cubies' race for fun). That was good news for the boys since Emma's car was the fastest out of the Steiger cars. We spent most of the day at Awana racing. Fil was one of the judges seat so I was busy chasing Jo around.
We brought home two trophies. Nate was first place for speed and Sam third place for design. I cannot believe I do not have pictures of the cars. Like I wrote I was too busy chasing Jo so I did not have free hands to take too many pictures.

That was the just the start of the week.

The boys worked on their IOWA tests all week long with Fil (while I was busy cleaning and working on several projects) everyday for 1 1/2 hours. I am glad we are done for another year. I have been looking into next years curriculum but I will write about that another time.

On another note Jo is pretty much potty trained. She is doing great and I am looking forward to being done with diapers completely (she still sleeps in diaper at night).

We ended the week with a luncheon celebrating our church's four year anniversary.

I wish I could write that our lives are slowing down a little bit but the snow is gone and we are busy not only inside but outside as well. Spring activities are lined up and we are all looking forward to enjoying warm temperatures.

Sunday Reflections

The perfect surrender and humiliation were undergone by Christ: perfect because He was God, surrender and humiliation because He was man. Now the Christian belief is that if we somehow share the humility and suffering of Christ we shall also share in His conquest of death and find a new life after we have died and in it become perfect, and perfectly happy, creatures. This means something much more than our trying to follow His teaching. People often ask when the next step in evolution - the step to something beyond man - will happen.
