the Steiger Band and Awana

The kids had a band going on in our backyard this week.

And if you happened to be in our neighborhood it was for free (this time).

We all made it to the last Awana for this school year.

Emma finished her first year in Cubbies.

Nate finished his second year in Sparkys.

And Sam finished his last year is Sparkys.

We are very proud of him. Sam got his Sparks award. For those outside of Awana circles, Sam had to memorize over 166 Bible memory verses.

Where did the week go?

I cannot believe another week went by and the Steiger household is not slowing down any time soon. The boys had their big Grand Prix race at Awana last week. The boys designed their cars and this year even Emma had her own (she did not race since she is still little but they let the 'cubies' race for fun). That was good news for the boys since Emma's car was the fastest out of the Steiger cars. We spent most of the day at Awana racing. Fil was one of the judges seat so I was busy chasing Jo around.
We brought home two trophies. Nate was first place for speed and Sam third place for design. I cannot believe I do not have pictures of the cars. Like I wrote I was too busy chasing Jo so I did not have free hands to take too many pictures.

That was the just the start of the week.
The boys worked on their IOWA tests all week long with Fil (while I was busy cleaning and working on several projects) everyday for 1 1/2 hours. I am glad we are done for another year. I have been looking into next years curriculum but I will write about that another time.
On another note Jo is pretty much potty trained. She is doing great and I am looking forward to being done with diapers completely (she still sleeps in diaper at night).
(Jo fell asleep in Fil's arms after the race)
We ended the week with a luncheon celebrating our church's four year anniversary.
I wish I could write that our lives are slowing down a little bit but the snow is gone and we are busy not only inside but outside as well. Spring activities are lined up and we are all looking forward to enjoying warm temperatures.

Awana

Tonight we had our last Awana for this school year. Both boys finished their books and are moving onto their next ones in the fall. We are very proud of them both. They are growing up so quickly. I cannot believe this was Sam's 4th year and Nate's 3rd. They did a great job at the end since we were gone and busy with Jordan. They learned many verses on their own and did great. Don't ask me about Nate's blue mouth. I have no idea where that came from. I didn't notice it until I took the pictures.
Sam getting excited about the awards.
Nate getting his ribbon and diploma.
And Sam. Mr. and Mrs. B are so great with the kids. This has been their 15th year as leaders for this Awana club. They do a great job.

CONGRATULATIONS BOYS!!!

Awana Grand Prix

This Saturday we had a Grand Prix going on at the boy's Awana club. The boys and dad have been looking forward to this for a long time. They all worked hard on their cars this past week. This is Nate's car.

And this is Sam's. Sam drew up his own design. He did a great job.
Here is Sam and his friend Joshua.
Nate and Sarah.
Sam was enjoying the whole race. Even though the boys didn't win anything this year they came very close. They had a great time with dad and grandpa. The girls did some shopping this morning and they joined the boys in the afternoon for the finals.
Emma and grandma.

Jordan and Dad. She is doing better and better everyday. It is amazing to see her making progress everyday.
Few days ago we all went to the mall and grandpa took everybody on the marry go round.

Emma. I love taking pictures of my girls. (and boys as well)
By they way I love my Blended Beauty products for Jordan's hair. It saved my life. She still doesn't like ut when I touch her hair but this makes her hair look so beautiful and I have no problem to combing it.

Weekend

This weekend we started orange as you can see. Yep the boys have orange hair. It was "hair night" at Awana and the boys talked me into getting orange color for their hair. They picked orange to make dad and uncle Vit proud (too bad Broncos are done for the season). We did wash it off before they went to bed and I am glad we did. I didn't want to wash their bedding the next day :)

We headed down to Boston on Saturday to enjoy a 45 F day. Even though we wore jackets it wasn't that cold. Here are to boys in front of a big boat that is apperently carrying LNG.

And here is me and Emma.
And boys with dolphins.
We made it to aquarium again and we had a great time. Emma was very interested in the fish.
Sam was busy taking pictures and Emma posed for everybody with a camera.
Here is Fil and Emma watching a sting ray.

All the kids looking at a shark .....
..... and many more fish.
We had a great time.

Awana Grand Prix

Today was a big race at Awana. The GRAND PRIX. This year we raced for the first time since it is not for Cubbies but Sparks and up. The boys worked hard on their cars for few weeks with dad and here are the results. Sam won 3rd place in Sparks category. Nate race just for fun since he is in Cubbies. The race was a lots of fun especially for Fil.
The winners of Grand Prix 2007. (Sam is in a yellow shirt)
Nate's car. The rules are no help from parents which was very hard on me. But the boys did a good job. Nate was not officially in the race so he did not have a number so he put all the numbers on just in case.Sam's car.
Joshua Litman and the boys. (Partners in crime (Awana).

You can see Sam's car in the finish lane.

And here is our Emma. She wanted a car too to race with too. (Or to suck on.)
