Lenka

Did you know I have my own CD? About two months ago I found this CD at a local bookstore. I grabbed it and ran up to Fil singing that I got a my own CD.

We listened to some of her songs and as you can see we ended up getting the CD.

This Lenka (the singer), by the way, is from Australia.

This post brought to you by GP's and LG

They arrived. The LG washer and dryer arrived yesterday afternoon. As you can see from the pictures we all have been looking forward to our new appliances.

First let me tell you for some reason our appliances are breaking down. It started with dishwasher, the refrigerator last year and this summer I started warning Fil that my washer was on its last leg. Well grandma and grandpa were in town and they generously decided to help us out and bought us these fantastic units.

I have been eyeing a front loading washer for a while. I grew up with a front loading washer and I still remember sitting in front of it and watching it spin Well as you can see the kids love it. They spent all Friday afternoon in front of it trying to make out whose clothes they can see. The boys also put chairs in front of them and pretended they were driving airplanes.

And the best part? The kids are able to reach in and help me!! The girls got a big kick out of it and they were so proud they were able to help me.

Thank you GP's (grandma and grandpa)!!!

(you would not believe how much less water it uses)

You Paid How Much?

With the gas prices going up all the time I was wondering how much you paid for gas this week? I paid 3.48 this past Saturday. I am starting to believe that in the middle of summer we will think this was a very good price. So I would like to see who paid the most and who is still getting a really good deal. This will make us feel either bad and good. So how much did you pay
(I am thinking doing this few times a months so we can go back and see what gas prices are doing around the world.)?

Twinkies

This week I watched Top Ten Fun Food Factories on the Travel channel. I was very curious about American fun food. I had the pleasure to visit a few places mentioned like the Hershey chocolate factory in Hershey PA and the World of Coca-cola in Atlanta (twice). Most of the food items mentioned I have tried like pretzels or jelly beans. I was waiting the whole time to see what number 1 is. Well as you might guess the ultimate is: Fil was watching the show with me so I turned to him and asked him what in the world are Twinkies (remember I didn't not grow up in US)? They talked about this delicious snack that every child loves. So here I was sitting in my living room not even knowing what Twinkies are. So the next time I went to the grocery I looked for this "snack". It took me a while to locate it but as you can see it made it to our home. As soon as we got home I got it out and presented it to my children. Sam gave me this "are you crazy" look and both he and Nate were very firm that they will not eat this thing under any circumstances. I was trying to present the Twinkies in the best way possible like it is sweet and probably being pure sugar type of thing. Nope they didn't want anything to do with it. Emma on the other hand was very interested so we split one. I have no idea why it made it number one on the list. I was right it was pure sugar. I still have the rest of the box left here at home if anyone is interested.

(I am sure after Fil will read this post he will come home today and first thing he will ask for is the Twinkies. I better hide it well :)

Save the Planet

I don't know about you but our family buys a lot of stuff online. Around Christmas time there were packages coming all the time. We ended up with a ridiculous amount of boxes. But one instance takes the prize. I wait every year until after Christmas to get my calendars. They go on a 50% off sale the day after Christmas and that to me is much better deal than paying the full price (they only come a few days late). Anyway this year we ordered them online from Barnes & Noble since we are members so we got an extra 10% off and there is better selection online then in the store (plus they didn't have the calendar I wanted in the store). The one order came in three large boxes as you can see above (total of 4 calendars). They all came from the same warehouse in NJ and all three boxes came via different route by UPS. Now that is what I call a green company. So much for saving the planet.
Here are the kids trying to make me go crazy. I was cleaning our closet today and found this small kid piano. Now I remember why it was well hidden in my closet. They had a blast playing with it but believe me it will get lost again as soon my darlings are in bed.
