Infidel

One of my friends recommended this book to me a few weeks back. I am now recommending to all of you. I couldn't put this book down until I finished this amazing yet scary story. Infidel is an autobiographical book by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I am not very good at writing reviews on my own. Here is Synopsis from Wikepedia web site.




Hirsi Ali writes about her youth in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Kenya Also about her flight to the Netherlands where she applied for political asylum, her university experience in Leiden, her work for the Labour Party and her transfer to the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy. The book ends with her return to the Tweede Kamer (Dutch parliament), after two months following the murder of Theo van Gogh, with whom she made the film Submission.

I usually don't write book reviews for a very simple reason. I read a lot at least several books a week and I don't find the time to write about them. However this one touched my heart and I wanted to share it with all of you.

It is a true story about Immacule'e a young girl who lost everything during the bloody Rwandan genocide in 1994. Million innocent people died in three months. Her whole family was brutally murdered except one of her brothers who was studying outside Rwanda at the time. Somehow through this whole ordeal she found the power of prayer and forgiveness even before the genocide ended. I recommend this book to everyone in order to learn a little African history and to learn a lot about the power of forgiveness.
