Acadia - Wild Blueberries,Thunder Hole, Horses, Maine Friends and Big Boot

I cannot believe I did not get to post all of the pictures I wanted to post from our trip to Acadia and we left for another trip last week (I like to take pictures what can I say). I will try to post the rest of our Maine trip pictures into one blog entry.

Biking in Acadia is breathtaking what else can I say.

On our next day of biking we stopped by the side of the trail and found out that the wild blueberries were ready to be picked. It was the first day of July and the blueberries were ready. I could not believe my eyes. The girls welcomed a blueberry break and so did we.

Thunder HoleOur next stop by the ocean.

(every mom's dream to see through her lens her cute little girls climbing on big rocks in her flip flops!!!)

But daddy was right there to help.

Horses

We stopped by the stables since we were biking on carriage roads. We did run into carriages once in a while and it was fun to see some of the horses and even feed one!

And what would a trip to Maine be without stopping to see some of our good friends on the way home.

(Emma and Nate grew very close to each other in the last year)

Tonya and her family (waiting for two more from Nepal).

The big BOOT

We live in L. L. Bean country up here so another stop on the way home was to see the Big Boot.

Any child will go shopping where they have live animals (fish).

The kids looking for good deals.

And that would be it for our trip to Acadia.

Acadia - Bar Harbor and Sand Beach

Bar Harbor is one of the charming little towns in New England. Girls being silly in one of the stores.

My kids will find a place to play everywhere.

Some people will get lost even with a map in their hand:)

Fil and Jo at Sand Beach.

Sand Beach is one of the nicest beaches I have ever visited. The only problem is that the water is VERY cold. However, everybody (except mom) had to get their feet wet.

Some people preferred digging holes on the beach.

Acadia - Crabing

One of the kid's favorite activities while camping was to go 'crabbing' after diner. The kids would each carry a bucket to the water (we were camping very close to the ocean) and a hot dog (as a bait).

As you can see they each got few of them and no we did not eat them.

It was a fun activity and what better way to spend a evening while camping.

We each tried our luck and I believe we all got at least one crab.

The boys would catch at least five crabs each evening.

After we were done we let the crabs go and headed back to the campsite.
